Fadhaail Dua' wa Darood
The Benefit of Dua' and Darood
A collection of isnaads concerning the thawaab of various Dua's and Daroods
This collection of Isnaads for Dua's and Darood is taken from a booklet in Urdu entitled ' Ganjeena Akbaari' published Kutub Khaana ' Ishaatul Islaam. These Daroods and Du'as may also be found in the well-known book 'Faqri Majmu'a Wazaa'eef' as well as in the books 'Yazdah Surah Shareef', and 'Majmu'a Wazaa'eef'. The Isnaads found in this booklet [presently in your hands] are English renderings of isnaads found in Ganjeena Akbaari although Isnaads for these Dua's and Daroods are also found in the above cited works as well somewhat in greater detail. The renderings were done by Mr. Jawhar Jafri of New Port News Virginia, to whom we owe a great debt of gratitude.
Many of the Dua's and Daroods have medicinal usages and as such the editor is not qualified to give permission for their use. Those wishing to benefit from the medicinal aspects or to use them as a Ta'weez must seek permission from a competent Shaykh whom Allahu ta 'ala has given permission to let flow the Shifaa [healing] and protective [Ta'weez] powers of these various Dua's and Daroods.

Virtues of The Prayers for Forgiveness
Sayyidinaa Imam Hasan al-Basri رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ
The act of seeking forgiveness is what gives us the opening we need after feeling overwhelmed by the burden of sin. Forgiveness means a way out, a second chance, a feeling of hope with which to turn a new page in life. It is through the seeking of forgiveness that we begin to understand that there is no reason whatsoever to despair of the mercy of Allah. Islam encourages us to not run away in fear of Allah but rather to turn toward Allah the same way a baby would run into its mother’s lap. So lovingly does Allah, Most High, address His sinful servants: “Say: O My servants—those (of you) who have committed (sins in great) excess against their own souls—never despair of the mercy of Allah! For, indeed, Allah forgives sins, one and all. Indeed, it is He who is the All-Forgiving, the Mercy-Giving. So turn in penitence to your Lord. And submit yourselves to Him.” (Al-Qur’an 39:53–54)
This collection of seventy prayers for forgiveness [istighfarat] are attributed to one of the greatest spiritual luminaries of the past, Imam Hasan al-Basri, and it has been presented to offer a way for us to navigate through the complications and pitfalls of this life. Set out in Arabic script, with adjoining translation in English. Below is the event that took place between Imam Hasan al-Basri and eight men he met in Arafat:

O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. [Hadith Qudsi]
