Topkapi Palace in Istanbul houses the Islamic Sacred Relics, also known as the Holy Relics or Sacred Trust. These relics are significant items associated with the our Master Sayyidinaa Muhammad Sall Allahu 'alaihi wa Aalihi wa sallim and his companions ridhwaan Allahu ta 'ala ajma'een, collected by the Uthmani sultans from the 16th to the late 19th centuries.
The Chamber of the Holy Relics, located in the Third Courtyard of Topkapi Palace, is a sacred space where these relics are displayed. It has been a site of continuous Quranic recitation since the 16th century, emphasizing its spiritual importance. The chamber is adorned with exquisite Iznik tiles and calligraphy, creating an atmosphere of reverence.
Historical Journey of the Relics The collection began after Sultan Selim I conquered Mecca and Medina in 1517. He brought back various sacred items, establishing the Ottomans as the protectors of Islam. Over the years, more relics were added, reinforcing the cultural and religious significance of the collection. Visiting the Chamber of the Holy Relics offers a profound experience, allowing individuals to connect with the rich history and spirituality of Islam. During our Ziarat, care was taken as to not interfere with other visitors. As such the video might seem a bit disjointed at times as we moved the camera up to allow others to to appreciate and feel the noor emanating from these blessed relics. Alhamdulillah, we were fortunate enough to have been permitted to film the complete collection. General permission is give to download the video and share as you like unless done so for commercial purposes.
